About

Hey, everyone! My name is David Maher and I am a Sophomore at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Welcome to my personal website, Maher’s Marvel of Sports. Here at Marvel Sports, I breakdown everything ranging from College Football to Major League Lacrosse.

A little about myself: I have had four summer sports internships over the last four years with some summer collegiate and professional teams all over the state of Massachusetts. I did a little bit of writing, reporting, and a lot of live tweeting. I have live tweeted for the Quincy Militia of the Eastern Football League (now defunct), Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse, Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League (former members of the National Arena League), and last summer with the Brockton Rox of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. I will sometimes live tweet Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox games and live tweet games from my personal teams like the Florida Panthers, Carolina Panthers, and Chicago Cubs. But you can always find me on Twitter (@davidmaher08). Next summer I’ll be down the Cape with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

This site is where I get to express my thoughts and/or predictions for everything from the majors to the collegiate level. I also like to throw in graphic designs for each team or matchup I am discussing. All posts, especially those of the past, are free to view. I usually breakdown weekly NFL/CFB games and will give you some season previews, playoff predictions, and some personal stories of my time as a summer intern. If you would like to express your opinion on a specific post, then drop a comment in the comments section.

Wonder about, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to Marvel Sports

  1. Hello David,

I very much enjoyed your “Charlie’s AAU” post. Coach Kyle is my brother-in-law and I know that he was pretty nervous going into the tournament. I’m glad that the players put on a baseball clinic and won the thing! Keep up the good work. Reading it, I felt like I was in the seats with you and the Quincy parents. Feel free to add me to your distribution list if you have one. While in Chicago, I was a season ticket holder for the Cubs, while I worked for the White Sox. I live near LaCrosse WI now, 3 hrs from the Twin Cities. Too bad about the Twins, they are one of my fave teams as well; small market and usually are there at the end of the season. My Brewers aren’t doing too well either. I did go to 2 World Series games (Brewers vs Cardinals, St Louis won in 7) in 1982, paid $25/seat for one of the games!

    1. You should check out Midwestern Baseball Odyssey! It explains my grandfather and I traveling the Midwest for baseball. Including the 2014 All Star Game in Minnesota
